For research and development at a Czech university, we designed a laboratory pilot‑scale paddle dryer to dry heat‑sensitive and hard‑to‑dry materials under deep vacuum at low temperatures. The unit allows simulation of industrial drying processes in a controlled lab environment with precise parameter control.

Implementation:

  1. Design & Engineering: This horizontal vacuum paddle dryer features a paddle agitator that provides intense mixing and ensures uniform drying. Similar systems transfer heat through the jacket and paddles while continuously removing moisture in a closed-loop vacuum system.
  1. Production & Assembly: The dryer is constructed from corrosion-resistant materials and equipped with a controlled vacuum pump, heating elements, and sensors for monitoring temperature and humidity. A control cabinet manages the entire process precisely.

Outcome:

The device serves as a reliable pilot tool for researching drying of sensitive materials. It enables data collection on drying dynamics, yield, and product quality, supporting the development of new drying technologies in labs and industry.
